The Association of Engineers,India

On April 18, 1919 a group of engineers who were alumni of Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur started The Association of Engineers to make a forum aiming at raising voice to bring parity to the discrimination meted out to Indian engineers as against the British engineers.

The Association of Engineers was registered under the West Bengal Society Registration Act in the year 1961 (Legacy Registration No : 04849 of 1923-24 New Registration No : SO969043 of 1923-24). The name was later augmented as The Association of Engineers, India in the year 1973.

Our Objective

The main objectives laid in The Constitution of The Association are

  • safe guarding and promoting the status of engineers
  • research for development of engineering
  • Publishing of engineering news through journal and reading of papers and establishment of a library

    • Our Story

    The great leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose the then Mayor of Calcutta in and around 1930 did also patronize our Association time to time. The major activities of The Association of Engineers, India are:
